New Grads

Hello There ! ,

I am senior nursing student graduating in June . I currently live in Florida but im moving to New York /New Jersey . I am not familiar with hospitals in the area or the existence of new grad programs or residencies , or how to contact nursing recruiters . Also in terms of the license i dont know if i would have to get licenses for both states or if i can just use one and practice in both states? I know they are not part of the compact state .

Any information would be appreciate it !

Thanks

A nj license is only valid in NJ. A NY license is only valid in NY. Pick a state neither is cheap licensing. NJ is over $200

And in NJ, nothing moves quickly in State government issuance of paperwork. Be prepared to wait.

I recommend you apply for your license in New York, which is faster, and then apply for endorsement in NJ.
