we need a bit more info before we can offer the right advice. Where you from and have you already applied for ATT cos without it there is no way you can sit NCLEX in jan and if you trained in the US did you go for OPT before qualifying???????
Ok, I am from Jamaica, and I went to school here in Minnesota. No, I have not gone for OPT and whats ATT ?

Hi,
ATT is an Authorization to Test from NCLEX Operations.
If you went to school in Minessota, then your school will submit your name to the Minessota Board of Nursing, as an elligible applicant (student who completed nursing education). You need to apply for a license at your BON. After they made you elligible (you should be) you can apply for the NCLEX-RN exam with the NCSBN (National Council of State Boards of Nursing).

Soon after you registered and payed the fee ($200) you should recieve your ATT, which you can use to schedule your exam.
Hope this helped,
Csilla
Go here for your BON website

I would go directly to a hospital.
Although I do have very good experiences with placement agencies both here and in Hungary, where I'm from, I don't think this is something I would want to do through one. For one thing, most of them will make a big chunk on your salary, or at least collect a nice(!) one time placement fee. Why do them the favor?:chuckle
Look online for info on hospitals you are interested in. I'm sure you can find one that you like!
Good luck!

Sorry but you are too late for the OPT. You needed to apply for it before you graduated from your program, now it is too late.
You will need to apply to the BON for licensure as mentioned above. Did you go thru an RN or LPN program? Did your school not give you the information for getting a license there?
Since you do not have the OPT, you are going to have to go thru the regular channels and find an employer first, who will then submit a petition on your behalf and file an AOS (Adjustment of Status). You will not be permitted to work until you receive the EAD (employment authorization document) and have a Social Security Number, which you cannot apply for until you have permission to work in the US.
We need more information from you.
