New Grad programs in the ER...do they exist?

Does anyone know of any new grad residency programs in the ER in NYC?

its the field i want to get into. due to scholarship limitations, i have to remain working in NYC. i have heard hospitals will hire new grads for intensive internships/residency and then place in the ER.

anyone know of them?

You can get into ER as a new grad. PM me.

I want to know too. :)

A few hospitals off the top of my head offering new grad ER:

North Shore University Hospital Manhasset-Trauma 1

Winthrop University Hospital Mineola - Trauma 1

St Johns Queens- Trauma 2

Mercy Medical Rockville center

***state mandates a 1yr orientation for new grads in ER and some hospitals will require you to stay x amount of years after training.

Hi NurseKat922,

I really appreciate that information. I know that ER is very hard work, so it makes sense to mandate the one year orientation. The more orientation, the better.

Thanks again,

Melody
