I live in NY. I've only worked in one OR. I do a lot of everything but at our hospitals it seems like we do the same things over and over. We are thinking of relocating to NC. I was wondering which hospitals are the best for OR nurses as far as treatment and pay. Which areas are the safest?
I am worried that I won't know enough and will look like a fool going somewhere else. It is stressful enough moving and then having a job with little support.
They won't just throw you into the mix when you start a new job..there will be orientation involved. Also, be honest at interviews about your strong points and weak areas. You should ask how long their orientation is too. Good luck.:)
you'll be fine. I did the same thing...changed 5 OR for 28....good orientation...good staff and you'll be an OR pro very soon. be honest with preceptors and eager to learn new things!!!
Specializes in 2 years school nurse, 15 in the OR!.
You'll be fine...All you need is a good orientation. I was out of the OR for 2 years and went back. I was surprised at how much I forgot. A good orientation got me right back on track...I agree with the post that you need to be honest where your strengths and weaknesses are..
