Nervous About Summer Classes

Hello everyone. I am trying to finish all the basic pre-req in order to get my name on waiting list. I just returned to school about year and half ago. I am 32 with 2 children and also a single mother. so it get's a little overwhelming, but since i have been back I have received all A's even in Pre algebra which is my worst subject. I am worried that it's all going to go down hill because I am taking Chem this Spring and Principles of Bio in the summer. Are the 7 week classes really tough, and from what people say about chem It's pretty scary!!! I feel I will be crushed if I do bad now? And anyone have any ideas on what you are going to do when accepted into nursing school. How can you go to school and work, if it's full time. I have a house payment and don't know how i will live without working full time. Confused about that situation too. Any advice will help

Thanks :)

I have had a 3 week English class, a 6 week Dev. Psych, and I finished a full semester class of Psych in 5 weeks. However, I am taking A&P II in summer 2, and it is 4 weeks. So, I know the feeling. I am making an A in A&P I, but it is a full semester class. I am spending sooooo much time studying for it too. I'm not sure how 4 weeks to learn it all is going to work out.

As for working, I don't think I could do it, but some people do.

Good luck to you.

How "tough" a summer class is really depends on the instructor and the student.

Some teacher condense the material so they can teach it all in the amount of time alloted. Some teach everything and overwhelm you. Coem are great teacher and you just love them.

I personally love summer classes. To me, there is nothing better than looking at my transcript on July 31st and seeing that I just racked up 12-15 hours in a summer!

Yep, I'm an odd bird...

Stay on top of your material and you'll do just fine...

Agape,

What is coem?

sorry, just couldn't resist! :chuckle

I know at my school the summer courses are condensed. Each exam can be over up to 10 chapters and that's alot of material to know. But it can be done. You should try taking the courses that you think will be easier for you in the summer semester, and leaving courses (like biology) for fall or winter semesters. Concerning your worry about chem and biology being hard, they will be, and the courses will get harder as you go along! Good luck.
