Has anyone started to apply for the Nurse Corps loan repayment program? I wanted to see if anyone is having trouble using the application at all?

Alright everyone, its that time of year again. Wishing everyone luck who applied for the 2014 HRSA nursing education loan repayment. This is my second year applying and I'm hoping this year brings better news since I did apply weeks earlier this time. Last year I submitted my application about 3 or 4 days before the deadline. It did not say I was ineligible it only said sorry I wasn't selected so I'm hoping they just ran out of funds. Did anyone submit at the last minute and get funded? If someone has any hints or tips on getting the funds, please feel free to let us applicants know! Thanks and good luck to all!! :-)

Seemed like I spent 12 hours at least on this!!!!

Just submitted today, so fingers are crossed.

I also applied and did not receive an award. Very disappointing. Last year I applied about 10 days before deadline so I'm hoping that had something to do with it. I also want to know how early those that received the award applied. Good luck to us!

That is a great question! How early did they apply? I did hear that they ran out of funds early last year.

I have also applied this year, about a week ago. I found the application to long and meticulous, seeing that they will disqualify your application for millions of reasons.

While I did not apply last year, I did the year before, by paper and was told funds were out almost immediately.

Can you tell me what number your facility ranked?

I did not have any problems applying, but did find the application to be very time consuming, and tedious.

It really stressed me out that they state a million times your application will be disqualified if you did anything wrong?

What was your hospital ranked?

My facility is a 17. Fingers crossed and praying this year is better for all of us. My thing is if they are going through the application with a fine tooth comb why not make it so you can't submit until everything is how they want it? I really need this help that's why I applied early.

I also need the help, my debt to income ratio is insane.

I am hopefull with my faculty ranking 16, my debt to income ratio being so high, and coming from a disadvantaged background.

How much time did you spend on this application process?

Since applying last year, I had all of my information and only needed to update. I was able to do this and submit my application within about 2 days. It only took this long because I am very anal and wanted to keep going over it with a fine tooth comb. I just don't want anything to keep me from getting it this time. How long did it take you to get it?
