Hi
I'm just wondering if anyone has experienced the same. I'm so worried. I was administering insulin and caught my finger. I reported straight away and have now found out the patient is hep c positive antibodies. I now have to wait and can't eat or stop thinking about it.

I would recommend that you Talk to your occupational health team about your concerns. They will be able to give you the appropriate advice and support up I through this.

Got to agree with XB9S, I last had a needlestick in January/February 2016. Had my bloods taken at the time and again 6 months later.
Had access to Occupational Health who were great and could give me any information I needed.
Try not to worry too much.

You hopefully went to either Occ health or A&E the same day and they drew blood?
They will do it again after 12 week and also 6 months, also there might be local variations in that.
If you know the source patient they might be able to get consent from them for a blood draw, but its not a cert, some will refuse.
Go back to occ health and discuss your concerns.

I have to agree with most of the suggestions from the comments. And also try not to worry too much because you'll just end up stressed out which could really decrease the ability of your immune system to fight diseases. I hope that your blood tests will all be negative eventually
