Need SALARY Help!!

Published

I have just interviewed for a job in southern MS doing home health work and am at a loss regarding salary...does anyone have any ideas as to what kind of salary I should expect?! I have to respond back to them quite quickly and am quite confident I will get an offer for this position. Thanks!!!

I can't speak for MS specifically but have noticed that people have indicated that pay rates for hh generally range from $17 to $23 an hour. Sometimes they are as low as $15 (my former employer would pay this to unsuspecting employees) or as high as $25 an hour. This is the hourly rate for shift work. Visit rates range from $25 to $32/visit. I'm speaking about LPN level routine care/visits. Specialized RN care rates are appropriately more. The agencies I've worked for do not engage in the specialty cases much or at all so they don't offer the higher rates. HTH

I was an LPN for 3 years and an RN for 2 and am just now starting in HH at $28.60. I was very firm about it when they asked my desired salary. I expressed interest in the job, brought my previous employer's printed annual evaluations with me, and basically indicated I was worth it. I was sure it wouldn't but, it worked! I will also get 4 weeks time off annually.

Stand up for yourself and toot your horn. One nurse reminded me, they need me more than I need them. Good luck to you.

I am a new grad LPN and get paid hourly. Depending on our clients, and the shift we get paid differently. Our lowest is $13.50 which is because of medicaid pay and normally I get $17.50 for days/evenings and $19.50 for nights. This is in VA and is exceptially good for my area as the local hospital pays $11.88 for new grad lpns
