Need a preceptor!

Hi,

I'm in a very unfortunate position, as my school has been having difficulty finding clinical placements for its master's students. This is total BS for sure, and I am working to get to the bottom of this. I was able to secure a great placement for fall quarter, but it looks like my school has only placed half the students for our women's health clinical during winter quarter.

This is such a long shot, but I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask if anyone in the Seattle area would like to mentor a terrific and very smart nurse practitioner student for 90 hours during January, Feb, and early March. ;)

Did anyone else have this kind of problem in their programs? Is it just my school (Seattle University) that is letting us down?

Thanks for listening!

I think many online programs require students to find a clinical preceptor in their own area.

I should have been more specific. Mine isn't an online program. Some students have to make up time this next quarter because their placements fell through. :(

I didn't think yours was, I was just meaning that it isn't unusual for students to have to find their own preceptor. May just be a matter of contacting NPs at the facility and asking them personally.
