One year of experience is a little hard to have doors open for you, especially in a non-specialty area. Definitely get your BSN, and if you could bring TWO years of experience, you probably wouldn't have any trouble finding work.

alright, awesome thank you!!

Actually I have almost 3 years experience, have been a dept manager as an occupational health nurse (very similar to ER/Trauma), worked at the colorado state prison and currently work LTC in a skilled nursing facility and still cannot get into a hospital. I get told after every interview, "we like you and are confident in your abilities, but were looking for someone with more experience." Good luck anyhow!
