She sounds like she is threatened by a younger and likely better nurse than she will be! I had a similar experience, I felt like I made a horrible career choice and was definitely not meant to be a nurse. After talking to one of my instructors, when I was going to give up nursing completely, she said something to me that completely changed everything I will ever do as a nurse, no matter who's around me. When you choose to be a nurse it's because something inside you makes a good caretaker. The people who want to be nurses for the money never make it through school and if they do they have to work hard at it, it's not a genuine interest or passion... It's forced! Your the one who has to look at your self in the mirror each and every day, if what you did makes you proud your a nurse then do it! No matter what anyone else says, all that matters is how your patients feel after you care for them... Were your patients grateful? If the answer is yes then continue to be you! Others criticize in nursing cause of jealously, spite or dissatisfaction with their self. Never let someone else decide who you will be... You are you for a reason, and a nurse because of that, not because you did what someone else told you to do!! Be you on your terms no matter where your at!

I didn't get any pop up, it took me to the pay page and then I got a error processing payment. That's how all my classmates found out also. If you passed, you can't pay again, if you didn't might as well pay, you will be taking it again anyway. Was a sure fire way for everyone I graduated with to know, immediately if they passed or failed... Hope this helps, I know the wait is horrible! I took mine, shut off at 75, I was mortified because none of the questions even seemed hard! I was sure I failed so miserably the computer knew I was hopeless at the min number, lol. Turns out I must have just had awesome instructors, I passed and it was EASY!

Actually I have almost 3 years experience, have been a dept manager as an occupational health nurse (very similar to ER/Trauma), worked at the colorado state prison and currently work LTC in a skilled nursing facility and still cannot get into a hospital. I get told after every interview, "we like you and are confident in your abilities, but were looking for someone with more experience." Good luck anyhow!

I know this is old but I couldn't help but comment. I live in a small town on the eastern plains and I get paid $29.75 with a $4 shift diff for nights. I am only 2 years out of school, but I have learned negotiate your first wage out of college, it sets the bottom number for the rest of your career! From what I have heard I actually make less than other nurses but I think I still make pretty good money for a ADN RN.

If you don't mind the drive, try Morgan Community College. They are nationally accredited and it is a little over 2 years start to finish for ADN. That's where I went and from experience taking my NCLEX after completing their program was cake!! Our class had a 98% pass on NCLEX, and trust me that's something you need to look into when picking a school. Sure you can pass the program but if you can't pass the NCLEX what's the point! I know others who went to other colleges, got a 4.0 GPA and they still couldn't pass the NCLEX. From our class only 4 of us were local, the other 12 were from the front range. Worth the drive.
