I am going to the Aesthetic Enhancement Institute next week to get trained in chemical peels and microdermabrasion. I received the CD's in the mail this week that I ordered from AEI, and it recommends starting your business within two weeks of returning from training because "if you don't use it, you will lose it." So now I need to start thinking about cost. A dermatologist (who I am friends with and already work for) has offered to let me rent space in her office. I asked her how much she would charge, and all she has said so far is "not very much." Can anyone give me a ballpark range? I know it all depends on location. But what are the other expenses, keeping in mind I am starting out simple and only doing chemical peels to start with? How much will the peeling agents and other supplies run? I will not need to worry about utilities, phone lines, credit card system, etc. But I do need to consider the cost of getting getting Liability Insurance, an accountant, business license, etc. I have no clue how much these things cost. I only have a few thousand saved up after paying for the classes. And I need a way to market myself so I can book lots of peels to get my money back quickly. Can you tell I'm getting anxious? Thanks for your time.

Not sure where you are located, but I do suggest that you get your business license applied for and find out specifically form your state what their requirements are for you.
Do no try to do all of that when you get back from your program. You should have everythig in place before you even go to the program.
You did not specify which state that you are licensed in, but each has regulations as to what an RN can and can not do. You may learn soemthing in your course but not be able to do it in your state. It is best to know exactly what you can and connot do first.

I used to work for a plastic surgeon that had an aesthetician in his office as an employee. She was not an RN however. This might be an option before you begin your own practice.

I have completed the same program. I worked out a deal with my doctor, that he purchases all the product and covers the expenses. I take 60% of the profit. This was a good deal for me since I am just starting out. Let me know what happens.
