Sorry, I don´t know but maybe you could ask the Nursing and Midwifery Council?

Hi Sheraz, there has been lots posted about international nurses who want to work in the UK in the international forums so I advise having a look in there about the problems you are going to encounter.
THe nursing and midwifery council have very specific requirments for registration and your course would need to meet those. I imagine if you have done a degree course then you would meet the clinical requirements however you will still have to do an ILETS and an overseas nursing program.
The main problem you are going to come up against is that unless you are a UK or EU citizen your not going to get a work VISA to come to the UK, no UK employer will be legally allowed to give you work and you will have no specialist skills to offer as a new grad so you won't meet the criteria of any of the nursing posts listed in the shortage professions.
Thanks sharrie, 4 ur comment.Im going to clear IELTS too n many nurses from asia r working there, with limited duration of work permit, on their diploma basis. My concern is that BSN only.Once again thanks 4 your time
thanks mary.
Nurses who are already here will have had a visa from before the changes in immigration, as a new grad you will not get a work permit even for a limited time.
I recruit nurses as part of my job so am very clear on what as an employer I am able to do, I am NOT able to even offer an interview to an overseas nurse and without a job offer you will not get a permit.
If you are not a UK or EU citizen you will not be allowed to work in the UK even on a limited basis.
Sad news for all overseas nurses then.Arn't there shortage any more or something else happened to NMC policies?

There hasn't been a shortage as such for many years, we even had a couple of years where UK trained nurses struggled to get work once they qualified and this still happens in some areas. Not sure what you mean about NMC policies because they can not help you get job or work permit they just govern nurses and issue license etc
As SD rightly says there are UK nurses who are unable to find work because of job cuts job shortage in the UK, it is essential that we make sure our own nurses have work before even looking at anyone from another country.
It may be dissapointing for overseas nurses but I am afraid my own sympathy has to lie with UK nurses who are unable to find work in thier own country
ur absolutely rite sharrie, the priority must be given to local nurses then if there's still a need ,then they may consider overseas nursing.
OK SD, lets see what happens in coming years, how things will be for us.
