Need Help!!

I am doing a research paper for my technical writing class. Our assignment is to find controversial issues in our field of study, and to persuade a solution. So what are some controversial issues in nursing that can in fact be solved. Assignment is due soon- hurry!

I have always felt that nurse/pt. ratios and unit staffing to be a major issue. administration/management frequently needs to watch their budget so they can only staff a unit with so many nurses/CNAs. However that ratio might be unsafe for the patients. Especially if there are high acuity patients. I don't know how you would go about writing an entire paper on it but it's an idea.

There is also some contraversity over the DRGs (diagnostic related groups) and the length of stay and care insurance companies will pay for an illness. I hope that helps!

The fact that medicare is going to stop paying for the treatment of falls and bed sores later this year is pretty controversial.

You could always do the classic one, why the nursing profession eats its young. GL and KUP on which one you chose to do.

thank you! if I google this would i get information?

You could write about the use of UAP, mandatory overtime, 3 entry levels of nursing, staffing rations. You can find lots of controversial issues on the ANA's website if you do a search for position statement topics.
