Need Help

I was wondering if anybody knew if it is possible to be able to transfer CNA certificates to different states. I have a NY CNA certificate, but I plan on moving to CT. I don't really know what to do, any help would be great.

I am moving soon and I don't know if my New York CNA certificate will be good anywhere I go. Does anyone know???

Hello, sheebsalt,

You need to contact the Office of Long Term Care in the state where you will be moving/working.

The chances are excellent that you can get a CNA certificate in your new state without additional effort other than filling out an application (certainly paying a fee - this *is* the gov't we're talking about ;)) and proving your certification in your current state :). Siri is correct that you need to contact the long term care office in your new state.

It depends on the state. Most states however, require you to take their exam for certification in that state.
