I have an application by endorsement already submitted in January. The update in May (family member went to the office) was the only thing that is being waited on is results on my hardcopy fingerprints, that were sent in to FBI for verification during the month of march (could be three months but we are almost there....). If I don't have it already, feel like maybe it's going to be a while and I am moving in less than a month!
How do I submit a live scan, and is this a problem if I already submitted a hardcopy fingerprint card?
I was able to locate the live scan form but am not 100% sure how it works to go get live scanned. Does ANY live scan location work? If not where do I need to go? Do I need an appointment?
Planning on flying in from out of state, asap, but want to make sure I have all my ducks in a row.
I really appreciate any input.

I can't answer as to whether or not this is a problem if you have already submitted a hard copy.
Here is a list of LiveScan locations in California: Live Scan Locations | State of California - Department of Justice - Kamala D. Harris Attorney General
Look up which is nearest to where you'll be flying in. The location I went to did not need an appointment - I would research on Yelp or another website if they do, or just give them a call. You need to bring 3 filled in copies of the LiveScan forms - 1 for you to submit to the BRN, 1 for the LiveScan operator to keep, and 1 for your records.

You should search live scan companies in USA, after that you can call and set up an appt to have them completed. If there is no one in your area that does live scan then AT certifix live scan You can actually get cards at the police station or most places that does fingerprinting. Again you'll have to search companies in your area that does fingerprinting. I actually had my fingerprints completed at a certifixlivescan. live scan results can come back in 48 hours. I was told by my local Sheriffs department. Though I have been printed several times, for my certificate of clearance and for a couple of jobs, so that is supposed to help. I would estimate a week at the longest for a new person.

I got Live Scanned in Sacramento. I picked the cheapest place and was in and out in about 15-20 min without an appointment. (Please note that the price listed is their "rolling fee" that is added onto the standard cost of the background check.)
They looked at my form to get my prints matched up with the right identification information but didn't keep it. I actually still have all three copies but have already been licensed.
If you're flying in to get this done, I would suggest flying into Sacramento if possible so you can go to the BRN office yourself to make sure this is the absolute last thing they need and there's nothing else that could possibly hold you up. My husband or I went twice during my application processing time to check on things.
