Yikes. 2.9 GPA overall? What about science courses? All the ones I know of require at least a 3.0 GPA...What about retaking some of the courses for better grades? The programs that I know of in the bay area are all impacted so it's pretty hard to get in...Try community college nursing programs. Contra Costa College, Los Medanos College, and Chabot College all have ADN programs. I know for sure Contra Costa College's nursing program is lottery based so as long as you meet min. requirements and get chosen by lottery you're in! Good luck!

I'm not too sure about this, but I think all accelerated BSN programs are aimed towards second-degree (or higher) Bachelors or Masters-prepared students, with the assumption that they've satisfied all the math, english, arts/social sciences etc. requirements when they received their first degree.
Here's a link that you might want to read about accelerated programs: AACN - Publications - Issue Bulletin
Also, if you're still interested, the BRN has a list of approved RN and APN schools on their website:
Board of Registered Nursing - Approved Programs
Good Luck!!!

Go to the website of the Board of Registered Nursing and look at the link for nursing programs. All approved CA state nursing programs from ASN to entry level MSN programs are listed. Choose the ones you are interested in and do your research. But unfortunately, I can tell you without batting an eyelash, that I do not believe you have much of a chance in a public program. Maybe one of the private schools, where you pay and pay, but not the community colleges or state universities. But you can contact them and inquire. Maybe in a lottery type situation, you just might have a chance. Good luck.
