  1. Hey everyone, This may not come as a surprise to many of you. I guess I've been MIA from the CSULB SON website, but I've just noticed this sidenote on the future of the ELM program: Entry Level MSN: Due to budget issues, the ELM program will not be able to admit for Fall 2011 unless funding is received. The next cohort will probably be for Fall 2013. I know they sort of mentioned it at orientation, but 2013?! I've been going around allnurses and found out they've cut out quite a few of the NP tracks at CSULB for this upcoming school-year as well ("all NP programs were canceled due to budget except pediatric NP. She said that it will be push to spring 2011, which is still indefinite. And that if an applicant wants to go to spring 2011 NP program , one will have to just apply to the CCPE ."). On a brighter note: WE START IN A MONTH!!! i'm so very excited to meet all of you. Don't forget about getting those health req's in before the 30th. Re-congrats and enjoy the rest of your summer!
  2. Make sure you're logging into the "Spring 2010 or Earlier BeachBoard Courses" section of BeachBoard, don't click on the Summer link.... Hopefully you'll be able to see Accelerated Nursing Program on the right-hand side, under My Organizations.
  3. I'm not too sure about this, but I think all accelerated BSN programs are aimed towards second-degree (or higher) Bachelors or Masters-prepared students, with the assumption that they've satisfied all the math, english, arts/social sciences etc. requirements when they received their first degree. Here's a link that you might want to read about accelerated programs: AACN - Publications - Issue Bulletin Also, if you're still interested, the BRN has a list of approved RN and APN schools on their website: Board of Registered Nursing - Approved Programs Good Luck!!!
  4. i might be late about this, but i just realized that my financial aid package has shown up on mycsulb. i think it's only available for viewing at this point (no options for accepting/declining awards), but if you haven't done so already, you might want to take a gander at what they've got to offer. :]
  5. Does anyone have news on whether or not they've come out with the financial aid award information for the program yet? ...& I'd just like to say a great big, "Hello." I'm new to the message boards as well. And if you haven't done so, make sure you all turn in your acceptance contracts before the deadline which, if I remember correctly, is on the 14th. @Stephcsulb: From the info session, they said that we'd be at the school/hospital between 5-6 days a week: 2-3 days of lecture, 3 days of clinicals. I'm not too sure though. Hopefully someone else out there can give us some insight.
