Hello everyone.....I live in Illinois and I have a huge concern. My school I attend is very expensive, I receive financial aid and student loans but by the end of school I will have a balance of $5000 which means no graduation for me. I went to WIA for funding and was approved but by me already starting my program I was told they can't help me. I was wondering if someone knows any other help out here for broke nursing students!

Not sure what the differences are between FL and IL, but here, many students went through government agencies designed for those who are struggling with underemployment or unemployment.
Also, although you already received regular loans, have you applied for a private loan through a bank or finance company? 5k isn't too bad, and if you can find a trusted family member to co-sign, you may be in luck!

Try contacting a bank such as Chase, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, or a local credit union to see if they will provide you with a private student loan for the remaining $5,000 balance. Sallie Mae also issues private student loans. Although I was unemployed in 2004, I was able to obtain a private Sallie Mae student loan for a large amount of money based off my good credit report.

What school is this? I too live in Illinois and the LPN program I enrolled in is very expensive. My balance was $5k as well as books and supplies. The best thing you can do is to see if a relative can cosign a sallie mae loan for the balance or if your credit is good you can apply for a loan through various banks like Bank of America,Chase etc..I'm asking a friend to help me with the cost, and if that is not enough I will just pay the balance over the remainder months in the program. Good Luck to You!!
