Need some help and advice

Published

Dear friends,

I've posted in another threads but no answer yet... Maybe somebody can give me some advices in this one, so here is my message:

hello,

I'm a RN and I'm struggling with my exams...

guys I need your HELP! I've came here in USA, VA two years ago and since then I'm trying to pass the CGFNS exam. As you probably know both CGFNS and NCLEX exams are required here in VA. For a year long I've tried to pass the CGFNS...and I've worked hard for that with no good results. My last score is 390 from 400...:( and I've already reapplied for the next exam...which is in march 2008.

The problem is that I think I choose the hardest way and I was wondering if I apply for a state like CA, for example, just to pass the NCLEX and to get my licence to practice nursing, than can I transfer my licence here in VA and skip the CGFNS exam?

I've passed the CGFNS credentials review and I saw that the requirements for CES are the same with the requirements for Certification Program, so with a little luck they will not ask for more papers from my country nursing school...

I need your good advice, what should I do? which state is better to apply to and can I do this, apply in another state and than return here in VA? which are the steps for that...

I hope my English is good enough to make my self understood...:)

thank you for your time!

P.S. I have a SSN and my husband is working on a H visa.

Thanks again,

Ioana:balloons:

Have moved your post to one of its own, Even if you go to another state and then endorse to VA you may still need to do CGFNS exam, that is something you need to clarify with them. Also at the moment due to retrogression you will not be able to go the AOS route and work and I doubt that window will open up again for a few years, only exception I can see is if your husband filed including you in the July/Aug window that opened up as long as his employer is willing to support him for GC. If not you will not get EAD.

Thank you Silverdragon! please if you have time to explain me all the abbreviations that you used in your replay maybe you'll illuminate me 'cause I'm in a fog here...:uhoh3:

what does AOS route means, GC and EAD?

All I can tell you is that

I'm on his visa, I'm a dependent and I have found an employer ready to sponsor me but I have to pass the VBON.

Thank you so much for your replay

AOS=adjustment of status, GC=Green card and EAD is permission to work. Even though you have found an employer to work you are looking at years before you can and that is once you have a license. I presume your husband has a H1b visa has he approached his employer about converting to greencard and if so did he apply in July/Aug if not then you are in for a long wait due to retrogression unless something happens with it, which nothing has since it started in Oct 06.

I've got it now thank you so much for your time!
