Need a code for IV Pump

Help! I have a patient that went home with a portable IV pump for her PCA morphine. It seems that there should be a "V" code for this. Her pain is from lumbar stenosis and scoliosis. Would I put her main diagnosis first, and then the "V" code? Thanks for any help! By the way, she has gone from a 7 to a 2 on her pain scale! :)

If the pain is the main reason your there, modulation of the med/pump/dose, then list the narc titration first/don't have a code book at home/aftercare for IV/narc etc. If another doc or office nurse is modulating the med you may have to flip it. Hard to say without more information. I know it can be confusing.

I am going in for titration of the pump. I will be doing the dressing changes to the portacath, changing the needle and tubing, and replacing the morphine. This is my first PCA pump case, our agency did have another one, but it was on a terminal patient that had other issues. That nurse did not code anything for taking care of the pump. I'm going back in to the office today, and will look further at my code book. thanks for your help!
