NEED ADVICE- what to do?

I was accepted into a summer program for 8 weeks full time and will receive $ compensation- a program that deals with smoking cessation and teaching minority populations about the harmful effects of smoking- it starts in June and I am very excited to do this program. I however contacted a hopsital about a nurse tech postion for the summer earlier this year to try to get something for the summer. I hadn't heard from any of the hospitals I guess due to the hiring freezes...today I received an e-mail that scheduled an interview, on Monday. I know I cannot do both at the same time and the hospital where I got the interview is someplace I want to work upon graduation...it is not that the tech job is second to me, but right now I think that the smoking program is a once in a lifetime thing. I dont NOT want to risk my chances for further employment with this hospital in a year (when I graduate 2010) sooooooo what should I do? should I just tell them about the program at the interview? cancel the interview? I dont want them to feel "second" I really don't know, I am VERY confused/torn and almost sick just thinking about it...any advise would be GREATLY appreciated! thanks:crying2:

I was a nurse tech and they hired me after working for them one summer. I knew the system, therefore needed very little training.

You don't feel that you could do both? Maybe one will work with you scheduling wise because both jobs would be beneficial to you.

Personally, I think I would go on the interview (not mention the summer program) and not make a decision until I received a formal job offer. The 8 week program sounds like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity but the job market being the way it is for new grads, I would look at the long term possibilities and having a leg up for a new grad RN job would be the best bet.
