I just passed my NCLEX and am starting my job search. Should I just apply to hospitals on-line or does it help to go to the hospital and apply in person?

Many facilities that are on the ball with their online applications. In my area because RNs are in such high demand all you have to do is email a recruiter with a couple of general questions and they will call you back within 24 hours. If you are in an area where it is harder to find a job or you really have your heart set on a certain unit/speciality I would definitely recommend getting some face time in with HR or even better the nursing supervisor for that unit. Congrats and good luck with your job hunt.

I have found that it is harder to get a job unless you speak to someone from the floor you want to work. HR and NM seem to not communicate very well. It was the same for the other nurses that graduated with me. Everyone told me to make sure I speak with the NM and HR but overall it was the NM that put it all in motion for me.
