I have had the flu for two days now. I had an engl class last night that I was able to suffer through but to night is my math class and it is an hour and a half drive to and from. Should I just suck it up and go or would it be better to just stay home and recuperate? If I miss 3 classes within the semester they will auto. drop me from the class. Is the flu a good enough reason to miss class?

Are you in otherwise good health? Do you have children who could get sick and cause you to be out? If you think a night of rest will help you get back on your feet, then I'd say skip and sleep. If not, I'd suck it up and go. You never know when something else could come along. I know that sounds pessimistic, but I like to plan for the worst case scenario and be pleasantly surprised 98% of the time.
Hope you feel better soon!
Besides the flu I am in good health. I am just experiencing body aches, a severe headache, sore throat, a cough, and a few other things to personal to mention. I have two little girls who have been sick also; that is how mommy got sick. Luckily I have a wonderful husband who stays home in the evenings to watch them (without complaining).

If you haven't missed yet and are usually in otherwise good health, I'd sure the heck stay home....you won't be doing anything positive for your classmates and hopefully the material's something you can easily catch up on? I know if I don't feel well, there's nothing that's going to sink in anyway...if you're a good student and the instructor knows you care about the class and your grade, I'm sure an allowance can be made should something horrific come up between now and finals...at least that's always been my experience....
Make sure you call him if you've got a phone # or an e-mail you can use to do so....

If you think you can learn with a body condition like this, it's worth going to class. Otherwise, you will just be wasting your rest time and gas money.
Get well soon!

I would suck it up and go I am always afraid of missing a crucial component to the class. Plus you never know maybe you'll pass the virus to your instructor and get a day off next week....
Thanks all for your advice. I ended up staying home on Tuesday and today is no better but I have decided I am going to class today no matter what. Perhaps I'll get my chance to pass this on; I am sooooo tired of feeling sick.
P.S I hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day!!!
