Need advice please?

So I was not working for 7 months waiting on a job that I thought would be a good fit for me. I'm on a med surg floor days.....it is horrible. Lack of proper staffing and no support. The total opposite of what was presented to me at the start. I should have waited for the oncology position that I wanted, and of course is now available at another facility. I just need some thoughts on what the proper thing to do. I've been at this new job since Aug. My anxiety and nausea starts at the thought of going in to work and continues while there. Any thoughts would be good. Thank you!

    So an update.....I have an interview tomorrow on oncology. I'm so confused what to do or say about the job I'm currently in......as far as reference and such. Any ideas? Thank you.

    Say the job you're in isn't a good fit if they ask why you want to leave.

    You have 12 years of experience. Presumably you have references outside of your current job, which you've only been at for a few months. Use them. As I believe I mentioned earlier in this thread, I have never used a current manager as a reference. Even when I was trying to leave my first nursing job, I didn't use my manager. I used 2 charge nurses and some colleagues who I trusted. If they ask you for references, use people from past jobs.

    When job searching last year, my references were a charge nurse from my hospital job, the branch manager from my home care job, and a past account manager who'd already left the company I was looking to leave.

    I don't understand why you're perseverating on this. Don't use your current job as a reference. It's really that simple.

    Lol. Didnt think the previous post went through. Went to interview today and I feel like it went well. She said she will let me know soon. Thanks to everyone for support.
