Need some advice PLEASE

Published

I am currently awaiting my 'acceptance' letter from a few nursing schools that I have applied to, and I just found out I am pregnant (due date is about Jan 1st). I am unsure of what to do. If I do get accepted for Fall 2010, do I go until I have the baby and then take a leave of absence? Or do I reject my acceptance and just wait to apply for Spring 2011 when it has been a few months after I have had my child. I am sure this sort of thing happens to a lot of women, but it was totally unplanned and my husband and I are just trying to go about everything the right way with planning everything correctly (work, school, etc). Any words of advice and encouragement would be greatly appreciated...as it is a stressful, yet happy time in my life. Thank you! :)

Probably 75% of babies born have not been planned and seem to come at a "bad" time. I wouldn't worry about your future plans. Go to school if accepted. There is no "prefect" time to be pregnant and have babies. After the baby is born a lot of what you do will depend on what friends or family support you have for daycare. My nursing friend had an unplanned pregnancy after starting her Masters in Nursing degree, brought the baby to class when he was little, she said she got some dirty looks from her fellow students, but she is always joking and making fun of herself, don't know how serious she was about the dirty looks.
