Need advice ASAP!!

Published

I need advice on hemorrhagic ovarian cysts ASAP. It somewhat ruptured or leaked a few days ago and I got rushed to the ER because of severe severe pain. Its on the right ovary it measures 5.1x4.4x6.5 cm. I do have a history of complications such as: heavy, irregular and painful periods. I have been this way since I was 15. The NP thinks I should have it removed as does alot of people. My options were to leave it alone and have pain here and there and once my menstrual cycle comes and goes I could get another ultrasound to see if it shrinks, I could wait until I have my menses and go on birth control and after my menses get an ultrasound and hope it goes away or down, or I can get it removed. I have a surgical pre-op appt this Monday a.m and possible surgery (Laproscopic) on Tuesday or Thursday. My dilema....I start a brand new job on March first!!! Please if you have any information to go through with it or wait it out etc let me know. The new job however IDK will appreciate me leaving for a medical issue once I start so I am trying to debate if I should get it done before I go in. The pain has diminished however it can come back any time. I was told to not lift anything heavy or do anything strenuous and I also heard that stress can cause it to rupture. :uhoh3:

You need to follow the advice of your doctor. Ask him/her what your options are, expected outcome and expected down for each option. Other than that no one here can really telling you anything as that would be dispensing medical advice and we are not doctors. Best of luck and hope you feel better soon.
