I am currently studying for my NE-BC and struggling. Has anyone recently taken the test and have any helpful hints? I have not even been able to schedule a day to test yet and I already have terrible anxiety. Thanks!!!

What is NE-BC?

It is a nurse executive board certification by the ANCC.

OP: I am in school so I am not currently studying for any certifications, however, I know of nurses who have already taken and passed NE-BC and NEA-BC. ANCC has plenty of resources for their exams. Just do some searches on the topic. There are books and CDs with questions you can use to practice and study. Good luck!

I took the exam back in 2015...my recert is this coming year. It was a challenging exam. There are so many things that you can't possibly just know. Definitely study a lot. I bought a couple of practice question books and read through the books and rationales probably at least 3 times. I made some flash cards on the few areas that I was struggling with.

Following. I am studying for my NEA-BC exam. I don't know where to start or which courses to take.

I am in the same boat. I am studying for the exam and would like to know some helpful tips. I would really appreciate your feedback.

Update:

I took the exam today and PASSED!

It does help to read and answer practice questions. I prepared for 2 months.

I used ANA's Nurse Executive Q&A and bought some NE-BC review books off Amazon. The questions were mostly situational so be prepared to choose the best answer. Once you'll get used to the review questions, the answers pretty much stand out.

Best of luck to you!

Update for me, I took my test and passed!  In a week or so the exam will change and the materials we studied will be outdated.  For what it is worth, I think having an MSN in leadership and working more than 2 years was very helpful in being able to pass.  Good luck to everyone and Happy New Year!
