Can you please tell me what the interview was like? Questions they asked etc. Kinda long story, but I went to school for medical assisting (switched majors) so I graduated in December 2010 after 3 years at college (dont get graduation until May). Anyways I am a certified medical assistant, but no luck with the job hunt yet :( So I applied to this local hospital like last Monday..should of a while ago but, never thought it would take this long to find a job, and they called back the next day, which I heard is rare. I have an interview for a nursing assistant position this WEDNESDAY! Im not sure if they called me because I have a degree, and it only asked for high school diploma/GED. I would APPRECIATE any tips for interview! I mean was yours for a CNA or just NA position? Will they teach me stuff I dont know..Im assuming they have to. I wanted to practice blood pressures more at home..the teacher at school was a joke..but I go to practice and the cuff is broke some how. Also, did they mention pay? I wasnt sure what to expect. Thanks !!!!

My tips for you would be to show up on time.I came to my interview 30 minutes early lol.Dress very proffessional.I was asked why did I become a cna.How did I had a difficult coworker.A lot of the interview was just basically the nurse manager telling me about the floor.I am in ms so the pay varies. She was asking if I knew how to do manual bps.Did I know how to do bed baths. Also smile alot and get the interview eye to eye contact. Also do a little research on the hospital like their policy and their mission speech. Please let me know how your interview goes.Good luck!!

Hey well I will be finding out very soon if I got it. Now Im so confused though... I dont know if you read my other post . Im pretty confident that I will get it. I actually went to school for medical assisting. This one pediatric office (in the same building I did my externship at) just posted an ad up yeasterday... wish it could have been up sooner! Now I plan on faxing my resume the pediatric office Monday. I just dont know how to word it to them that I if they are interested in interviewing me that I need to know asap becasue I have very soon job offers / actual job offer if hospital gets back to me first. I dont know if I hear from the hospital first if they usually give you time to accept or not. Confusing. I know the nursing assisting job is not exactly what I went to school for, but figured I would be able to use some of my skills...and can always bid for another position? On top of that Im supossed to have this Medical assistant interview Tuesday and I dont know if Im going. I am most interested in the hospital and pediatric place without knowing all the details right now. So confused.

Just set your priorities and go from there. Although you might have to give up an interview (call them) you still have many choices.

Best wishes!

Thanks. Im so nervous and becoming doubtful now about the hospital. They said they would be hiring people early this week and if I didnt hear anything by today call them. I called the women whos card I have yesterday at 3ish ...I believe they closed at 330. I left her a voicemail, but she hasnt called yet today. Im afraid if I call soon I will either get her voicemail and no reply or something that I dont want to hear :( I mean I was so confident for once..I really thought it went well. Even the way the women was talking to me. Do you know who makes the hiring decision..bc the nurse managers were to busy to do the interviews so HR did. I believe they send out emails if they dont want you(pretty sure but havent received one.
