NCSBN Prep Course

Hi All!

I am currently preparing for my Nclex (2nd time around) and I am using the NCSBN prep course. I wanted to get some input on what you all that have used this course thought and if it helped you to be successful on the NCLEX? I have been doing the practice questions at the end as well as reading the lessons and taking notes. I have been scoring in the 70s and 80s with a few occasional 90s (very occasional lol) I am two weeks away and I am trying not to freak out anymore like I did the last time and just focus I am feeling more confident before but still not satisfied with my scores. Anywho.....how did you all like this course?

I don't understand why more people don't take advantage of this exceptional resource instead of spending gobs of money on review books. I also used that to prepare for the NCLEX for 2 weeks and completed the NCLEX with only 75 questions before it shut off. The NCSBN is the agency responsible for creating the NCLEX so it stands to reason that their questions are the most similar to what you might see on the actual test. I did every practice question on the site and I read every rationale, whether I got the question right or wrong. This allowed me to actively learn the material while practicing. Occasionally I would go back to the readings on the site if I was really not remembering or understanding something. Otherwise, it's all about doing questions, day in and day out, until you take the exam.

Thanks so much for your comment! I thought the same way as well! I figured that if I did these questions and read the materials that they put in their course I should be guaranteed success. I know a few of my fellow classmates who struggled with passing until they took this course. Afterwards they passed and are all practicing now!

I utilized this program for the questions being similar to the NCLEX, due to the fact that they provide the NCLEX, and have a very comprehensive review if I needed a source when reviewing the questions, the answers and rationales.

These questions were very similar to the NCLEX and I felt very comfortable going into the NCLEX.

The content was a bit tedious for me, but the question bank was great. I passed the first time with 75 questions. However, I used other resources as well.

What other resources did you use? I am down to my last two weeks and want to be fully prepared.

I used NCSBN 3 week course for practice questions and Hurst for content. I'll say NCSBN were similar to the actual NCLEX. Their practice questions were very challenging which is great. I passed my boards 2 weeks ago using these 2 resources. Goodluck
