Hi there,
I'm a canadian nurse who will be writing the NCLEX in December. A colleague of mine who took the NCLEX a few years ago suggested I get the Kaplan book on strategies for on how to write the exam as well as the "Cracking the NCLEX" Princeton review book. I have just finished going through both books and now am attempting the practice questions in the kaplan book. I am not doing well and am very nervous about this exam. Does everyone get different questions on the exam? One of my friends wrote in Sept and she got alot of meds, mental health and endocrine questions. HELP!!!!! I dont know where to start!

The exam can ask any type of question and the next question is based on the previous question and how you answered it. I suggest a good read on the NCSBN website much there will explain about the exam and how it works

yes, it's true NCLEX is testing your knowledge to be a safe nurse. For me, to be a safe nurse is know the disease process, know nursing process, know the effects/side-effects of the medications, with that you'll never get lost...
and then practice q and a bec the way they made the questions, if you are not used to it you will get lost(it's a trick). Read rationales (don't memorize) understand why the answers is like this, like that so forth...even explain it with your own words...THAT'S A SAFE NURSE, AND THAT'S NCLEX... (IN MY OWN OPNION)
