gbarrera2 Wonderful, Wonderful!! Congratulations!! Now it is time to celebrate...Let the party begin!:yeah:

Congratulations! I found out yesterday that I passed- I was convinced I failed! I had 75 questions and completed the test in 59 minutes, including doing the tutorial. I didn't have one delegation question, but about 7 prioritizations and 7 SATA. That test is horrid! I was afraid the questions weren't hard enough, but I guess they were. Thank goodness I never have to take it again! I was so convinced I failed I only slept about 4 housr each night after the test until I found out I passed. Good luck to those of you that haven't taken it yet- I have to say a lot of my questions were basic care and comfort, and then a few random diseases that I have heard of, but didn't know the symptomatology. I did have a difficult math calculation involving mcg, mg IV rate and Kg. :yeah:Yeah to passing!

Congrats to all of you that have passed NCLEX. I am scheduled to take my exam Aug 26. And if you guys can just give me some pointers on how did you guys study for the test? How many questions did you do every day? Did you guys reread any content? Please let me know because Im taking the kaplan course and the way they teach us to answer the questions can be a little confusing. Any help I can get from you guys is very much appreciated. Thanks to all and once again Congrats!!!!!!!:clphnds:*wine:ancong!::urck:

I studied by reading the comprehensive Saunders nclex study guide. I did about 2-3 chapters a day, and definitly took a few days off. I only would do one chapter a day if it was a super long one. I also did questions from the kaplan Q bank, that was the only kaplan I had access to. I did a few hundred questions from the nclex 3500 CD. I really think that the majority of the questions that I had on the test were basic care things that I'm sure you have the knowledge of- standard precautions for various diseases. Start studying now a little every day- at least 20 practice questions a day and when you can do 100 do it! One day a week try to do 200, and you will pass! But I promise you will think you have failed-it sucks! If I can help in any other way I will!

I took mine on the 26th...I was the last one to start and the first one to finished haha. Took me about an hour had minimum questions. I thought maybe I failed too and I had to wait til the next morning to find out that I passed. I think the best study guide that was closest to the NLCEX would be Kaplins. I actually used Saunders CD rom from book and to be honost it wasn't helpful at all, but I passed some how.

I can't afford a Kaplan's program. We had a meds pub review for a week after graduation and before Hesi. The woman who gave it writes questions for the boards. She was excellent and went through section by section to tell us what to focus on and what boards like to ask. I was one of 3 people that passed Hesi in my class. (I go to the University of Cincinnati and they mandate the passing score at 900.) The review lady told us that Hesi is used for school accreditation and it's a totally separate test from nclex and that there is no correlation that if you pass Hesi, you'll pass nclex. There are studies on the web that rate your likelihood at 98% so I guess we'll see!!!!!! I studied over 3,000 Mosby's questions and the Hesi book as the most. I used other sources but that was what I started mid-quarter, Spring quarter. She also told us that the average person taking the nclex is taking 120 questions to pass and the top contenders for books reported are Mosby's and Saunders, because students say they understand the rationales. She told us to find a book that we like because if we don't like it, we won't use it. Well, I hated the Hesi book but read every stinkin' line of that.

I have a hard time believing that only one program, like Kaplan, which is expensive, is the only program to use to pass. I will let you know. I don't have a test date yet - still waiting to hear back from Ohio Board of Nursing. It's only been 9 days since I passed Hesi. Students are still taking it. The review lady told us the national average schools use for that is between 800 and 850. Again, UC wants 900 but students are already sliding through if they're past 850 so far.

Is there anyone who has passed nclex without the Kaplan review study?

I had that same lady come from my school. She's blond and from New York right? I graduated in May and she came to our school before graduation.
