I passed the NCLEX in December. Our instructors referred to Saunders quite a bit, so I had 4 semesters of studying that book. When I graduated, I bought the Kaplan review book with CD. It has a lot of great strategies to help you answer questions, and the CD has a practice test on it. That's all I did. Lots of luck to you.
thats for the quick suggestion! at this point i'm willing to do anything :)

I only recommend Saunder's, and nothing else. They do the best job of explaining the rationales behind each and every answer, and this is more important than even doing the questions..............
You need to understand what the NCLEX exam is looking for in an answer.
thanks for the input, seems like everyone is suggesting Saunders....guess i should check it out :)

I took the Kaplan course, read the "Course Book" that comes with it, and read selected chapters in Saunders. Kaplan really helped me become familiar with the format of questions that were actually on the exam. Saunders helped me brush up on topics that I was weak in.
Honestly, though, some of the questions were so out there, I think that I maybe studied TOO much.
Make sure you don't spend too much time reading content, and that you practice, practice questions every day! That is what helped me understand better what they were looking for.
Best of Luck!

I completely agree with Jen on that one. Some of the questions really are "out there" and no amount of content review will really help you with them.
Saunders is better material for the content review; Kaplan is better for the practice questions, in my opinion based on the test I had today.

Hi I have to agree with the other user that say saunders is the best,
It help with content as well as understanding what the question is asking and you will be able to breakdown each option and they also have the best rationale for each question. As for kaplan it is a waste of time their question do not help with understanding why each answer was and option.
The exam to me was like saunders.
