NCLEX-RN

Published

Hello everyone! I applied Nclex-rn for New York and failed. I am now living in Illinois for good. I need help which is better. To take the NY exam again or apply for illinois nclex then take the exam? If ever, how long does it usually take to endorse license form New York to Illinois? And which is cheaper, to take exam first then endorse, or apply for illinois nclex before taking the exam? Thanks a lot

NCLEX is the same no matter where you take it. Apply for licensure in the state you'll be working in.

Specializes in NICU, ICU, PICU, Academia.

Why would you spend $$ getting licensed in a state where you do not intend to practice?

First off - take the Nclex where you planning on practicing. Then you don't have to worry if there is any transferring of licenses from state to state. But the licensing exams or across the United States should be the same.

If you failed the exam, maybe take a refresher course ... but for sure do practice practice questions !

Good luck! Don't feel defeated - I know amazing nurses who failed their first time taking boards.
