my question is.....has anyone here had the computer shut off at 85 and NOT pass?

The number is not a guarantee. There are people who miss so many it shuts off at 85. The number is not an indication of pass/fail. Maddening isn't it?

But you're in good company, most who get 85 pass. Good luck to you.

I took my NCLEX-PN on December 28, 2005. The computer ended the testing session after 85 questions and I ended up passing.

No person leaves the testing center feeling completely assured about his/her NCLEX test performance. It is very normal to nervously wonder whether you passed.

I had the computer cut off at 85 questions. I was so scared and I had to drive 150 mileds back from Nashville, TN to Murray, KY in the worst thunderstorm. I checked online 48 hours later and I had passed. Alot of people that I know have had it to turn off on 85 questions. It either means you grasped the concept of the questions asked or you were doing poorly. You never know which. But like I said my friends that have had it turn off at 85 questions including me have all passed.:)

thanks!!

i have to admit, waiting 2 days for the results had me a nervous wreck. i can't even begin to imagine the people in states that do not have the quick-results and have to wait and wait. i wish everyone the best in achieving their goal!

for me, the key in passing was NOT rushing, reading every question several times along with the possible answers, considering the ABC's, ADPIE, and Maslow.

I had to wait to see my results, as I was dealing with the notoriously slow California board of nursing. I took NCLEX on December 28 and got my results via mail on January 9.

CONGRATS!!! Both my sister and I passed with 85 questions!!! I was worried as well! But it worked out!! YEAH!! GOOD luck in your Career!!!

congrats to you and your sister also...and best of luck!!

a good friend of mine just took his today, and his test was totally opposite of mine........it seemed mine was based with the majority of questions on all aspects of 2 topics and his was based on 2 completely different topics. i guess u go in and get 2 main topics, with all the other topics scattered throughout the exam.

best of luck to everyone!!

hi all!

im in my last semester and will be done in about 9 weeks. ive been searching the internet for some sites that offer free nclex review or practice questions . anyone know of any? and congrats to everyone that passed. i cant wait to be able to say the same thing!!!

i took the NCLEX on 2/16 and because I live in California have to wait up to four weeks. i am a nervous wreck along with two of my friends who took it with me. i have had to leave it in God's hands because there's nothing i can do but wait. mine shut off at 85 and i felt like i failed even though i studied for three months. both of my friends shut off at 85 and we were all A/B students. We probably have another two weeks of waiting. Will let you know. :)
