Hello all,
I took my NCLEX-RN this morning at 8am in Virginia (july/18/2011). I got 75 questions, lots of meds, 19 SATA(some of the med questions were in SATA format), a very few prioritization. Since this is the content of my test I am not confident at all about passing. I tried the PVT and it keeps giving me good pop-up but since VA BON doesn't anticipate the quick result I can't really relax over the good pop-up. Please share your experiences, I am freaking out especially there were not many prioritization questions?

I just took my test this morning, and my computer shut off at 80 questions. I too tried the supposed pearsonvue trick, but I'm not too sure how much to trust it.
In re: to your distress over the content of your exam; if we take a look at the NCLEX candidate bulletin, we can see a breakdown of the content that one can expect out of the test.
Safe and Effective Care Environment
Coordinated Care 13-19%
Safety and Infection Control 11-17%
Health Promotion and Maintenance 7-13%
Psychosocial Integrity 7-13%
Physiological Integrity
Basic Care and Comfort 9-15%
Pharmacological Therapies 11-17%
Reduction of Risk Potential 9-15%
Physiological Adaptation 9-15%
Note that there isn't really a specific category on priorities, so questions asking us to prioritize likely can come up in any of these categories above. That is, we were just as likely to receive questions about priorities in infection control as priorities in teaching about medications. Thus I would submit that you simply didn't pick many of those out of the hat! I wouldn't get alarmed over it.
I wish you luck in receiving your results! :)
Thank you.
I got so many infection control questions. Some were SATA, some were which one needs intervene or correct understanding.
Magnoliophyte,
Good luck to you as well.
