Nursing Students NCLEX

Hi everyone!! I'm really disappointed again. Took my nclex pn exam and failed once again. No math at all. I know what did it was the sata questions because everything else was ok. If you miss just one answer the entire question is wrong. I had a lot of meds that I knew nothing about!! I'm about to give up on this exam seriously.!! The sata is what gets me everytime!! Any help!! Another question I have is why have they become so strict?? Roll up your sleeves, show your ankles, check your neck, and etc..??? Do people actually cheat on this exam??

Hello, future nurse! I too have taken the NCLEX PN recently (Dec 5th) and found out I passed Dec 24th on my first try with the minimum questions. My test had 36 SATA questions (probably not the best idea, but I tallied it on my board LOL). Please do NOT give up! You can do this! I wish you well!

What did you use to study?? I used exam cram.

Did u guys just do self review? Please share the materials u used.... :)

Hello cherry bee and aspiringnurse01! I used Saunders for questions almost exclusively. We used ATI throughout our program though, and I felt that somehow helped also. To be completely honest, I felt like none of the studying I did really helped me on the NCLEX, cause knowing what the NCLEX looks like now after having taking it, there's really no "correct" or "right" way of preparing for it . But I will definitely share how I studied, hoping this would help you guys also :D so I did a TON of questions. I did ATI questions (Provided by our school) but mostly I concentrated on doing questions from the Saunders book. I would it in Exam mode, 100 questions per subject (fundamentals, adult health, child health, etc). So I'd do 100 per subject but I'd do about 2 sets of 100 or sometimes 3 sets of 100 per day. I didn't read much, I maybe only read less than a quarter of the Saunders book. I also made sure I memorized lab values early on, I made my own list in a way that's easier to remember. As for meds, I really didn't study them, I just knew the basics. I also was able to use NCSBN Learning extension program (Provided by our school also) but only did questions also. I didn't have the finances to get anything else, just Saunders so I did just that. Oh and there's also a couple of sstudy guides I have gotten for free from here also that might help, I could send them to you guys if needed. :D most importantly, please try to relax when you guys sit for the test. I know it's easier said than done, and I know I had nights that sleep eluded me because of anxiety but please try to relax and take deep breaths. You guys can do this! Let me know how I can help! :D

Are there tons of prioritizing on your exam? Just curious. :)

My school used Kaplan and NCLEX 5000.

From your candidate performance report (CPR), are you able to pinpoint the reasons why you failed? Is there a particular content area of the test that you are having problems with? Maybe you are already doing this but if not, IMO, a thorough examination of your CPR is key so you can target your weak areas and work on them before you retake the test.

Speaking specifically of SATA questions, I would recommend Lippincott alternate format questions book..here's the link Lippincott's NCLEX-PN Alternate Format Questions: 9781469845357: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com. It helped me get comfortable/confident answering SATA questions.
