Hi guys! I have a friend who is scheduled to take the NCLEX-RN this May for the 4th time. She's planning to take the NCLEX-PN if in case she will not pass NCLEX-RN again. Her question is...how to become eligible to take the NCLEX-PN? Does she need to do all the whole process again just like what she did before she was made eligible for NCLEX-RN exam (fingerprinting, request of transcript from the Philippines, etc.)? She will be taking the CA Boards. She studied BSN in the Philippines but she's a legal resident here in CA. Any info. will be highly appreciated. Thanks guys!

She will have to start the process all over again. The BRN only handles applications for the RN exam and RN licensure. There is a separate board for the PN exam and LVN licensure.
If she is in the Bay Area, would have her focus on passing the RN exam, it is going to be almost impossible for her to get hired in a hospital now with the LVN if that is what she wants to do.
Thanks Ms. Suzanne! We are all praying for her...hopefully she makes it this time. You're a big help to all of us.

my friend told me that you need to send a letter of request to the ca brn that you want your transcript to be endorsed to the board of lvn.you also need to pay 30$. You also need to have your new livescan.
There is no reason to have the transcripts endorsed, and there is no such thing as having them endorsed. Actually they cannot send them on for you. They are the property of the BRN and belong to them. If you wish to go for licensure as an LVN, then you need to send them everything directly to them. They are completely two separate agencies, with two separate administrations and every thing else is separate as well.
If you think about it, if things could just be sent, then there would be no reason for another LiveScan, if there truly is a reason to get it done again.
Records could be sent over for that as well.
