hello! i just got my BSN title this April and I'm leaving in a month for California, for good! I seriously need suggestions on what should I do/get/accomplish before I leave the Philippines.
during the past month, after grad, I've been very lux, chilling at home, and now i feel doomed coz a friend just told me that I have to apply for NCLEX here and now for things to be easier and faster. do you think i can accomplish everything in a month? and i just wanna ask about the fingerprinting thing, how can i avoid the fingerprint rejection? please reply! will appreciate it! :redbeathe

Starting point is you are applying for Licensure not NCLEX
You can not accomplish everything in a month, takes approx 4 months to get approval to sit NCLEX. Suggest you check out the CA BRN website and be aware without a SSN you can not apply as they no longer accept applications without a SSN

i was still in the PI when i prepared the documents i needed for nclex. bec. it would be hard and not cost efficient to make a long distance call back there. i made sure that my school and prc submitted my documents and that CG received them. i did my finger print at NBI office. i did fall in those long lines and under the heat of the sun. just be patient.
thanks for your reply! yep.. licensure.. sorry for that.. 4 months? boohoo.. so i guess i'd just have to do whatever i can here.. and if i don't finish in time.. i'd just find my way in the US.. it would be harder i bet.. but there will definitely be no gain without any pain.. thanks again! :)
spongebob6286.. you got the last line right! patience is really a must here in the PI. and the processing between the US and PI are way different.. so you got finger printed at the NBI here, right? was it accepted right away? coz i've been reading stuffs about rejection or something if it's done outside the US.. i'm still a bit confused.. but these forums really are helping me.. thanks!!!
the only reason i could think of is the way it was fingerprinted on the card. i didnt have any problems though.just make sure the cards are in good condition before and after use. bring some water and folded fan.

What's your US immigration status? This should be your first concern because if you don't have permission to work and a social security number you won't be writing any board exam or getting a job.
Are you aware of the difficulties US trained nurses are having in finding jobs?

Hi i got my nursing degree too in PI,,,you need to consider this one...
your status..your social security ( it took 2 weeks to wait for it after I arrived here in US) coz they are really going to ask for it...
then evaluation...if you are going to do it in california I tell you the processing is really slow bec. Cali is really a busy state,,,
I am also about to take my nclex this may 24th...so hoping to pass too...
when i came here it took 4 wks for my GC to arrive then i applied for SSN, it took 1 wk to arrive. i waited for my ssn before i submitted my application for nclex rn to the board. but it i think you can do either. you can submit your ssn to the board once you have it.
