I take NCLEX in about a week...I'm very nervous. I have been using Hurst and Uworld to prepare.
I was wondering if anyone could clarify if there is a difference between the "first" nursing intervention and the "priority" nursing intervention. For example "A nurse notes late decelerations on the fetal monitor what is the priority intervention? vs. "A nurse notes late decelerations on the fetal monitor what is the first intervention?"
I would think the first intervention would be to apply a face mask with oxygen. But, the priority intervention, that will save the baby and ultimately resolve this problem, would be to prepare for c section or forceps delivery.
Basically I'm wondering if the words first and priority are interchangeable on NCLEX?
Thank you!!!

They're the same thing. It means what would you do first or at least that's how it was taught to us in nursing school.
