I'm freaking out/nervous/scared/want to cry everyday because I have my test at the beginning of October. My Kaplan scores are all over the place.
RN QUESTION TRAINER 1: 48%
RN QUESTION TRAINER 2: 44%
RN QUESTION TRAINER 3: 43%
RN QUESTION TRAINER 4: 46%
RN QUESTION TRAINER 5: 51.3%
RN NCLEX SAMPLE TEST 1: 44.0%
RN NCLEX SAMPLE TEST 2: 46.0%
RN NCLEX SAMPLE TEST 3(Priorities): 73.3%
RN NCLEX SAMPLE TEST 4 (Alternate formats): 10% (I got frustrated and gave up)
RN NCLEX SAMPLE TEST 6&7 I haven't done yet. :'(
& for the q-banks so far I've done lowest 48% and highest 57.3%.
What do you all think? I know my weak areas are maternity, peds, and pharm. I'm just so nervous and I want to pass on my first try or I'll feel it'll hurt my confidence greatly. I'm looking for support and guidance? Maybe people can tell me what they've done to pass? Help!

I think you will be fine. Kaplan was harder than NCLEX. Just read the rationales and understand why or why not you got the answer correct. Keep studying!
Thank you! Just hearing a simple, "I'll be fine" makes me feel a little better.

The only advice I can give is NEVER GIVE UP. If you aren't mentally ready to take the exam move it! If you are giving up on the Kaplan trainers you need to refocus and find the strength to go 100%. You have to give your all when it comes to NCLEX. You may pass on the first try but there may be times when you feel like giving up during the test and that will be a very costly quit. I suggest you take a break from studying do whatever you usually do to relax regroup and come back with a vengeance. Your biggest problem right now sounds like your self-confidence in answering the questions.

I agree that Kaplan questions are more complicated than the ones that appear on NCLEX. Back in 2010 when I was studying with the Kaplan trainers, my scores ranged from 57 to 72 percent. However, I tend to overstudy for important tests.
Good luck to you!
Thank you MissMoo25! I think you're right on the money when you said about my self-confidence. Thanks for the tips :) They're greatly appreciated on my end. Take care!
No problem tell yourself you can do it! Write Your Name, RN I did multiple times at testing when I felt myself getting overwhelmed. It helps bring you back to center!

I also have to agree that Kaplan ( I used this for Q's and Saunders Comprehensive to review material ) was more challenging than the NCLEX. Definitely do Qtrainers 6 and 7 because they contain more challenging questions and be prepared to sit for the whole exam- I believe they are both around 250Qs. You can walk into the nclex and get as many at 265Q, you must be mentally and physically prepared to sit for the whole thing.
Most importantly, do not give up! You spent all of this time trying to prepare for this exam and its certainly not worth giving up on D-day! Sample test 4 was brutal, but keep in mind the NCLEX is filled with alt type questions so you must be comfortable with those- don't be afraid of them, if you get them wrong thats okay!!! Read the rationales so that when the test comes you will be well prepared. Also focus on your weak areas- peds, maternity, pharm because you must pass each section in order to pass the nclex- although i didn't get many questions on any of those sections. Wishing you the best of luck!
Thank you Girlygirl!!! Having the support from strangers is really awesome! I greatly appreciate it!!
