Kitty,
If you want to work as an RN in California, and be near your brother, you should come here. Call the Calif. B.O.N. and see what you gotta do. The difference here in Ca. is the wait after you take your NCLEX is up to 4wks to get your results. Compared to some states where you can get your results in 2 days. Call Ca B.O.N. at 916-322-3350.
Good luck,
April

i think new mexico is fast in processing eligibility.. then if you pass the exam, just endorse your license..
http://www.ncsbn.org click on the state that you want to have your application.. then download their forms..

1. you get licensed in a state that processes quickly and that offers a hard copy license.
2. Endorse to the state where you wish to work, if that one takes much longer on initial licensure.
Simple as that.
NY is good if you are going to work in NY, and they were one of the first that would issue a hard license without a SSN#. But there are others since. It should be dependent on where you finally wish to work.
You can make that choice, no one should be making it for you.
nope. im not going to NM.. i applied to IL for my initial licensure.. i just read in some posts here that NM is fast in processing eligibility to sit for nclex rn exam... goodluck.. actually IL is also fast.. after i pass all the necessary documents, they sent me an appoval letter in a week.. that is, if the results of your CES and TOEFL are already there..
