nclex abc or cab? please help

Hi to all nurses out there, I am new to this site and I find it interesting and helpful . I want to seek help from you guys especially those who already took Nclex I wanted to know if the cab of bls will also apply to Nclex ? Help me guys .I will take the exam on April , give me tips too on how to attack questions I am currently self reviewing now with Saunders 5th edition.thanks in advanced for the help

CAB applies to CPR only and really applies to non-hospital situations. It stands for "compressions (not circulation), airway, breathing". For all questions about medical care in the hospital, an airway issue is always the most important. Remember that the NCLEX is not re-done every year (every 5, I think). NCLEX pulls from a test bank of thousands of questions and some are several years old. So even if you get a CPR question, it might not reflect the AHA guidelines.

It's really unlikely that you'll get a question related to CPR on the NCLEX, but if you do you'll have to answer it based on what the question is asking. Evaluate the question, but when in doubt stick with ABC.
