NCCLEX...

ive been reading some of the past comments about ncclex posted here (majority of which are outdated). im wonderin if anybody previously attended any of their seminars and actually used it (certificates and licenses) abroad. they say that they're accredited (05/10/2005-05/31/2011) and i'd like to know if it's legit or not. i'm about to leave for the states in about 6 months and i'm worried about the recession happenin there. i think that it would an advantage to undergo their trainings and be up-to-date, but if you say otherwise PLEASE LET ME KNOW. i'd also like to take up some units in MAN to kill the time..can anyone refer me to a good program? tnx

the nclex is the licensing exam to get an rn license to practice nursing in one of the u.s. states, not a seminar. the organization that administrates the nclex exam is the national council of state boards of nursing and this is their website: https://www.ncsbn.org/nclex.htm. to my knowledge, they do not offer seminars on how to take and pass the test. they do publish the test plan on their site which tells you what is covered on the test under the link "test plans" on their web site. however, there are usually all kinds of private companies that are in business to make profit for themselves that are the ones who offer seminars and give strategies on how to take and pass the nclex. just do a search on the internet for them.

although i'm not quite ready for the nclex yet, i have been watching and the most mentioned review i hear is saunder's nclex-rn review. the book comes with a cd with 1000 or so questions on it and several 1000 in it. it is split up by subject and also contains rationales and test taking strategies. as soon as i recover from purchasing all of my textbooks, this one will be added to my shelf! good luck!

Moved to the International forum.

There are a couple of threads in the Philippine forum on this subject but you may find that they are not accepted by the hospital in the US
