NC1 - any tips/suggestions?

I'm getting ready to take my NC1 exam. I'm so nervous especially since this is the first exam. I think I'm most worried b/c I'm not sure what to expect. . .the type of format, etc.

Anyone have any tips or advice??

Thank you in advance! :)

Hi,

It was hard.. a lot of nursing jargon in the questions. You need to know the nursing process and follow the EC content guide. You will be fine!! Good luck

I think Nurse 1956 is right--- it was a tough exam. I thought they were all tough. There is no way people can pass these babies without plenty-o-studying.

Once you take the first one, every one will be a little bit easier because you'll be more and more familiar with the format and what exactly you need to do to study for EC's exams. Like 1956 said, go by the EC content guide, and get used to questions about the nursing process...... it's in your face throughout the entire program. :)

Best of luck to you on your test!

I'm getting ready for NC-1 as we speak. Okay, I'm presently AVOIDING getting ready for it, else I'd be studying instead of touching base with you all.

I did get myself a study buddy locally, who is in a similar position in the program, so at least until one of us outruns the other, we can reinforce each other's learning, share resources and encouragement, etc.

And there's always you guys.....!

I think the most difficult part of the NC tests is going from the LPN role to the RN role. When you take these tests you must think as the RN would, not as the LPN reporting to the MD or the RN supervisor.
