Navy Nurse Candidate Program

I am one semester away from hopefully getting into the Navy NCP and I my appointment with my recruiter is next month!! Out of curiosity I wanted to know if I do get into the program, do students who get that scholarship and monthly stipend get to wear some sort of uniform as they finish the BSN program before becoming active duty?

Thanks

I'm in the NCP but I don't know exactly what you mean. We don't wear uniforms pre-officer school, you're rockin street clothes like a college bum until your feet hit Newport, RI.

Good luck on your acceptance.

think of NCP as signing an advance bonus for being qualified to serve as a navy nurse upon graduation - otherwise you stay out of trouble, be a normal civilian, pass nclex and start commissioned service post-graduation.

Do you have to go to some training camp during your pre-officer school?

No we don't. You're basically a civilian until you graduate from your RN to BSN program.
