I wanted to talk to someone who has worked for Nature's Classroom. Looks like a lovely operation. There are 13 sites in New England and New York, and other "associated" sites around the US.
If you have worked for Nature's Classroom, please respond here with your experience or message me.
Thanks,

I haven't worked there BUT I went there when I was 6th grade for a week and absolutely loved it. We dissected owl pellets, and my luckier friends decided pregnant pigs and sharks. We also re-enacted the underground railroad and the salem witch trials. I wished it lasted longer!!!
One of my favorite childhood memories. And my dream job because everyone there were amazing

Nature's Classroom was my single best experience of middle school. 1,000x better than the Washington, DC trip we went on the following year. Mine was in Connecticut. I don't recall there being a nurse on site though there must have been with 200+ 12 and 13 yr olds.

I worked for Nature's Classroom for 3 and one half seasons. I had a great time, and John Santos is a wonderful boss, he is the founder of Nature's Classroom. It was a lot of hard work, but soooo much fun. I worked at the Silver Bay site. Not sure what you want to know about it, but calling the office and talking with staff is a good place to start. Please feel free to private message me.

Natures Classroom...Can you tell me some about food and lodging did you have a room in the infirmary? What was the infirmary like? What about pay, could you make weekly draws or did you have to wait to be paid at the end of your session? Weekends are free...what did you do with that time could you just hang out at camp?

Nature's Classroom is during the school year, right? Is that something you can take a Girl Scout troop to? I'm posting as a leader right now, not as a nurse! ;D

Did you end up working there? I applied for a position and have chatted with someone there. I'd love to have an RN tell me about their experience since it would be new for me to be by myself in a camp environment
Hope4673, I'm not sure who you were asking, but I never worked there. Good luck, it still sounds like a great place to work.
I loved working at Natures Classroom. Lodging and food are provided at no charge. Call Natures Classroom for further information. We worked hard, but it was a great experience!
Hi all, Ashley Bame here, I hope you're experiencing a bliss filled winter! It's hiring time again at NC and we are in need of some teachers, EMTs, and *gasp* nurses. If you know of anybody looking for a New England adventure, convince them to head our way (ahem, don't forget the headhunting fee: $300~teachers, $400~EMTs, and $1,000~RNs)!
