This is probably a silly question, but... If our household has mumps, what's the criteria for going or not going to work?? Thank you for your input! edit to add I work on a med surg peds floor

Are you immunized? Have you had a titer checked to confirm immunity? I would think that if you are immune, it would be safe for you to work.
Call your occupational health department to check your institution's policy.

I agree, get your titers checked for immunity but then again most of the mumps cases are those who have had more than 2 of the MMR vaccine...lol So who knows!
Hope you feel better soon! My friend and her dd both got mumps last year (no clue how they were exposed), they were both vax'ed, but really after a few days (4 I'm thinking?) they were a lot better, it was like the flu with swollen glands for them.
Thank you for the advice, I did call and talked to the house supervisor- we are flying by ear, (and Im staying home until I talk to the infection control nurse)
I feel soo terrible, all this time I just thought my husband was whiny. Shame on me!
