MTSA 2020

Hello all!

I am going to be applying for MTSA's doctorate program for nurse anesthesia. The application opens in January of 2019. Just wondering if anyone else out there is going to be applying? I just finished my first year of nursing in a Level 2 Trauma ICU! By the time I apply I will have about a year and a half of nursing experience. Hopefully this will be enough!

Hahahaha same here! I’m like dang it, I should’ve added this or that. But, you know. We all did the best we could have! And we have it over with and now we wait! They’re making the calls much earlier than I expected. I wonder if they make some decisions at the end of each day ?

I think they are making “partial” decisions. I waited for about 10minutes after the person before me left the room and when I asked Pam, she stated they spend about five mins after each interview to review the interview.

Yes I think so too! Because I waited a few minutes after the person in front of me as well! They must discuss thoughts about the interview

I was so nervous. Had all my pressors down, knew mode of action inside and out, reviewed Kreb’s cycle, ready for anything...blew a simple cardiac output question. It felt like I did a book report on Great Gatsby and couldn’t remember which letter comes after “C”.

But, did they give you the right answer? If so, I’m sure they knew you were nervous! You can’t know EVERYTHING! It is impossible. I’m sure it was fine ? they like to know that you don’t know everything!

Man I wanna say mine went really well and I elaborated on my clinical questions well, but theres always that shadow of doubt. I was still very nervous but they did a good job at making you feel as comfortable as possible so that was a plus.

Right, the more I think about it I’m like ok actually it went good. Then I’m like, well ok maybe it didn’t ?

None of us will ever know what goes through their minds, until we get that call or email. So I’m praying for everyone, for the ones who haven’t interviewed yet, good luck. And for the ones who have, we gave it our best shot and that’s all we can do!

@AresGod you aren’t alone. I was on a roll talking about ARDS and then they asked a very EASY question I totally blanked ? They gave me two options and of course I said the wrong one ?? but they explained everything to me. I was really impressed by the entire staff!!!

I interviewed yesterday as well at 0800. I didn’t think it was too bad. Hindsight is always 20-20. It’s over now. Best of luck to you all. I’m already nervous thinking of waiting by the phone this upcoming Thursday. Fingers are crossed!

Same here!

I keep replaying it over and over again lol.

Best of luck to you!

4 more days until we get mental relief from thinking and replaying the interviews! Lol
