Moving to Houston

Hey Everyone!

I'm a RN with 3 years of experience mainly pediatrics. My and my fiance will be moving to the Houston area. He will hopefully have a job in the Katy area. If I'm not moving until the end of the summer, when should I apply for a job?

Any Advice would be GREAT :D

Thanks :yeah:

Howdy! Where are you moving from?

I would advise you to go ahead and process your licensure - then as soon as you have a TX license and know your availability date, start applying for jobs. You will be happy to know that Texas Children's is opening a Katy facility very soon so I am sure they will be looking for experienced nurses - especially with your background. There is also a new Methodist facility opening up (right next door to the Tx Children's one)...

I think you'll enjoy the Katy area - I lived there for 17 years before moving further into Houston & my kids graduated from KISD. Lots of housing options & all you just have to drive east for a little bit to find anything - shopping or entertainment - you could possibly want.

I am thinking of relocating to the texas area. I'm a cna and (17 yrs exp.) would like to know which cities pay well and have a very well cost of living.
